Alexander Bautista, M.A. (he/him/él), was born and raised in Tabasco, Mexico. His family migrated to the United States in 2009. Alexander graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a B.A. in foreign languages and literature and an M.A. in Latin American literature with a concentration in Mexican queer studies from the University of Alabama. Currently, Alexander is pursuing his Ed.D.; his research focuses on creating access to education for all Latinos in Alabama. He currently serves as the Hispanic Community Coordinator at a community college, where he advocates for access to education, and as a Program Manager at AIDS Alabama, where he focuses on creating a safe space for all LGBTQ+ Latinx members in Alabama. Alexander is dedicated to advocating and making changes in Alabama for the Latino community.
